How is Artificial Intelligence transforming particle physics, nuclear physics, and astroparticle physics?

This national workshop brings together researchers from IN2P3 and CEA-IRFU to showcase the latest advances in Machine Learning for Physics, covering topics such as scientific data analysis, simulations, large language models for physics, accelerator control, and AI infrastructures.

The MIAI Cluster IA is proud to support this event through its Open Call funding program, which promotes innovative scientific initiatives and strengthens collaboration within the AI research community.

Developed by the FIDLE team within the MIAI Cluster IA, The AI Trial is an interactive theatrical conference where AI stands trial in a fictional courtroom. Through expert testimony, live exchanges with an AI system, and debates on ethics, security, bias, and society, the audience becomes the jury and delivers the final verdict.

Description

This webinar offers an immersive look into the impact of artificial intelligence on the legal profession, exploring its capabilities, concrete use cases, and the transformations it brings to legal practices. Participants will also discover the limits and risks associated with AI—such as hallucinations, errors, or confidentiality issues—as well as best practices to mitigate them. Finally, through a practical case study involving the drafting of a commercial contract, the session will showcase the main AI tools supporting legal tasks and operational roles.

Deep Dive into the CPDP 2026 Workshop on AI Training under the EHDS

On May 20, 2026, the MIAI Cluster — through its funded Chair "Responsible AI: Design, Regulation, and Conformity" (RAIDAC+) — successfully organized an interactive workshop at the prestigious Computers, Privacy and Data Protection (CPDP) conference in Brussels.

Titled "From Regulation to Infrastructure: Testing the Secondary-Use Pathway for AI Training under the EHDS," the session moved away from traditional academic panels to adopt a hands-on, participative governance simulation. Over 75 minutes, attendees stepped into the shoes of key stakeholders: an AI developer ("CardioAI"), Health Data Access Bodies (HDABs), and health data holders.

Using a hypothetical cross-border use case — a company training a cardiovascular disease detection tool requiring data from France, Germany, Sweden, and fitness platforms like Apple Health — participants actively stress-tested the operational reality of the European Health Data Space (EHDS).

During the workshop, participants discussed the various governance challenges faced by Data Users, Health Data Access Bodies, and Data Holders. Rather than discussing policy in the abstract, this MIAI-backed workshop, moderated by Pankaj Raj, Research Engineer at CHAIR, successfully explored whether Europe’s regulatory ambitions can truly translate into workable infrastructure for large-scale AI training.

The AI4archi chair, funded by the MIAI Cluster, is pleased to announce the 4th edition of its "AI and Creation" series. This lecture-performance, titled "À l’épreuve des intraduisibles" (Put to the Test of the Untranslatables), will take place on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the IMAG Auditorium (Saint-Martin-d'Hères campus).

Inspired by Barbara Cassin’s seminal work, Dictionary of Untranslatables: A Philosophical Lexicon, this session explores the fascinating intersection of language, translation, and Large Language Models (LLMs). By blending philosophy, linguistics, visual arts, and digital experimentation, the speakers will challenge the idea of a transparent, English-dominated digital space. Instead, they will highlight translation as a creative process that embraces the unique, irreducible nuances of human languages.
