Generative AI-augmented Engineer

DESCRIPTION

As its name indicates, AugmentIA explores the concept of "augmented humans," aiming to leverage advancements in artificial intelligence to enhance human capabilities in an ethical and responsible manner.

The project has three primary objectives:

1. Mastering Large Multilingual and Multimodal Language Models.AugmentIA develops advanced tools tailored for industrial project management, facilitating tasks ranging from drafting tender documents to efficiently analyzing extensive volumes of unstructured data.

2. Unlocking the Potential of Generative AI Cutting-edge technological solutions will be evaluated and implemented to optimize business processes. This includes addressing critical challenges such as reducing AI-generated hallucinations, ensuring compliance with ethical standards, and minimizing the environmental footprint of AI technologies.

3. Overcoming Technological Barriers The chair specifically targets complex technical challenges, including multilingual data management and customization of AI models to align with the unique requirements of the urban planning and construction sectors.

This ambitious three-year initiative, sponsored by Artelia and MIAI, underscores their joint commitment to revolutionizing industrial practices and creating innovative approaches to sustainable engineering.

ACTIVITIES

The AugmentIA chair actively recruits talented researchers, PhD students, and postdoctoral fellows through targeted calls and collaborations, emphasizing multidisciplinary skills in AI, linguistics, and engineering. Current activities focus on developing innovative methodologies for evaluating and improving large language models (LLMs), notably addressing multilingual and multimodal challenges, benchmarking performance, and ensuring robustness and reliability for industrial applications.

CHAIR EVENTS

The official inauguration of the chair takes place on March 27, 2025.
