A New Direction for the MIAI Cluster, the Multidisciplinary Institute for Artificial Intelligence of Université Grenoble Alpes

After seven years leading MIAI - recently designated as an AI Cluster - Professor Éric Gaussier, from Université Grenoble Alpes and member of the Institut Universitaire de France, is succeeded by Philippe Wieczorek, formerly Director of Innovation and Artificial Intelligence expert at the Minalogic competitiveness cluster.

At the end of a term characterized by the structuring and international outreach of MIAI, Professor Gaussier will now devote himself fully to his teaching and research activities, with a particular focus on foundational models and causality.

Under the leadership of its new Director, Philippe Wieczorek, the MIAI Cluster will continue to strengthen its engagement with the socio-economic ecosystem, consolidate its industrial partnerships, and expand its initiatives to promote dialogue and public awareness regarding the challenges of artificial intelligence.
