This call for project is open to all members of the academic partners in the MIAI Cluster consortium.
The MIAI Cluster chairs will include, unless otherwise justified, three components: a research component, a training component, and an innovation component.
The call for chairs, which will be launched in September 2024, will specify these elements.
This is a joint call for the UGA, UCA, and USMB sites.
The chair project development will take place in three phases:
Phase 1 – Partner Meeting : a meeting between academics, private partners, and members of civil society (associations, local authorities, NGOs, etc.), with posters/roll-ups to share research/work topics and initiate, within MIAI Cluster, collaborations on issues related to Artificial Intelligence: September 24, 2024, from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Please contact us if you cannot attend this meeting but would like to share your issues and projects. If you are unable to be present, this will not prevent you from participating in the next steps of the process.

Phase 2 – Pre-projects : Submission of pre-projects (deadline: October 25, 2024, at 10 a.m.) and presentation/discussion of these pre-projects (November 5, 2024, afternoon) in the form of posters. The purpose of this phase is to identify potential chair projects and to provide initial feedback on the proposed project. This is not an evaluation phase. Only applicants who have submitted a pre-project will be allowed to submit a full chair project.
Phase 3 – Projects : Final submission of projects (deadline: December 20, 2024, at 10 a.m.), project evaluation (based on reports from both internal and external MIAI members), final decision and communication to applicants in April 2025. Only applicants who have submitted a pre-project will be allowed to submit a full chair project.

Second half of September: Launch of the call for chairs via email through the departments, UGA mailing lists, MIAI mailing lists, and on this page.
September 24, 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM (in-person), IMAG Seminar Rooms 1 & 2: Presentation session with roll-ups/posters – registration required. This event is intended for private partners, civil society members, and researchers and faculty members. Its purpose is to initiate collaborations within MIAI Cluster on issues related to Artificial Intelligence.
Tuesday, October 8, 12:15 PM – 1:45 PM: Information webinar, which will be recorded and a replay link shared afterward.
By October 25 at 10:00 AM: Submission of pre-projects via the dedicated platform (link to be provided). Only applicants who have submitted a pre-project will be allowed to submit a full chair project. November 5, 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM (in-person), IMAG Seminar Rooms 1 & 2: Presentation of pre-projects in the form of posters/roll-ups. Only individuals presenting a pre-project, members of the MIAI Innovation and Scientific Boards, and the Training Committee are invited to participate in this session. November 19: Feedback and recommendations from the MIAI Training, Innovation, and Scientific Boards on the pre-projects. By December 20 at 10:00 AM: Deadline for final project submission via the dedicated platform (link to be provided). Only applicants who have submitted a pre-project will be allowed to submit a full chair project.
