DESCRIPTION

Ambition

To create a durable international strategic partnership between Univ. Grenoble Alpes - UGA (France), Instituto Nacional de Telecomunicações – Inatel (Brazil) and VinUniversity (Vietnam) aiming at developing and encouraging international, interdisciplinary and translational Education, Research, and Innovation activities in the field of AI. The so-called SL2i ‘Smart Life Smart Living intercontinental. AI by and for people’ chair is hence intended to become a win-win intercontinental consortium that gathers researchers, university lecturer/researchers, engineers, technicians, PhD and post-docs from UGA, Inatel and VinUniversity working in AI uses and applications.

Implementation

The SL2i’s chair is built on 3 transversal areas of work that are of increased relevance and great importance to our communities, applied to 3 applications domains of AI constituting demonstrators and proofs of concept of the integrated, multidisciplinary and translational approach. A double entry is envisioned. The implementation of these 6 WP is intended to progress in a complementary and synergistic manner.
Transversal work packages
WP1. AI, humans and society
WP2. Data gathering, quality, privacy and security to transform data into databases
WP3. Frugal AI
Vertical work packages
WP4. AI for persons (Use case 1: Smart Healthcare - Use case 2: Smart Sport)
WP5. AI for society (Use case 1: Smart Education - Use case 2: Smart City)
WP6. AI for enterprises (Use case 1: Smart Agriculture - Use case 2: Smart Industry)

Members

Consortium

We have built a special task force. SL2i is a multi-disciplinary and multi-national team of both Senior Career Researchers (SCRs) and Early Career Researchers (ECRs) from the three academic partners.

About the Grenoble’s academic partners

SL2i@UGA is constituted with 17 permanent members from 7 UGA’s research units (AGEIS, CROMA, Gipsa-lab, G-Scop, LIG, Pacte, TIMC) representing 4 research departments (Chemistry, Biology, Health (CBS) - Mathematics, Information and Communication Sciences (MSTIC) - Physics, Engineering, Material Science (PEM) and Social Sciences (PSS)), from 1 associate institute (CEA-Leti - Electronics and Information Technology Lab.) and from Grenoble Alpes University Hospital.
